Kitten wormer recommendations?

Greetings all! Some of you may remember my recent thread about the kitten I found along the road next to his dead mama, who’d been hit by a car… He’s doing really well! He went to the vet clinic at TSC 2 weeks ago, got a dose of wormer at the visit, and I got a sample container to being in a stool sample, which I dropped off the following week. So that sample was from a week after his first wormer dose.

The fecal came back positive for roundworms, which wasn’t terribly surprising. I’ve tried to call the vet clinic back a couple times to get a wormer recommendation, but I keep getting put on hold.

I’m assuming there are OTC wormer options I can (hopefully) pick up at Petsmart… Any recommendations on good ones vs bad ones? Or will I need something prescription-strength?

I usually buy a bottle of Nemex at TSC and dose my kittens every 2 weeks from 3 weeks old. If you are using revolution as a topical that will also treat/prevent rounds.

The most effective wormers are prescription. We would usually prescribe strongid for rounds. It is the same medicine as for livestock, you just need to figure out the dosage for kitten’s weight. Kitten should also be on a good flea prevention like revolution/advantage multi to continuously deworm.
