Re this article -
Does this mean the seven newly recognized studbooks are now “erkend”?
So one could breed a KWPN approved mare to, say, an approved Italian WB stallion and get Register A papers?

If on this list, then yes.
The following studbooks have been added as KWPN recognized studbook:
Anglo European Studbook (AES)
Stud-book sBs, le cheval de Sport Belge (SBS)
Landesverband Bayerischer Pferdezüchtere V. (BAVAR)
Pferdezuchtverband Brandenburg-Anhalt (BRAND)
Zuchtverband CH-Sportpferde ZVCH Swiss Warmblood (CH)
Polish Horse Breeders Association (PZHK)
Unione Nazionale Incremento Razze Equine (UNIRE)
Yes. Horses with registrations from those books may now also be presented at a KWPN Keuring for inclusion into the studbook if the owner so wishes.
On a personal note, I was really happy to see them add the sBs, as I now can present one of my mares for studbook/star consideration.
I think Unione Nazionale Incremento Razze Equine (UNIRE) is basically “Italian Warmblood”.
Interesting that KWPN now accepts Polish Horse Breeders Association (PZHK), but not WLKP (Wielkopolski). I believe the Olympic horse Ekwador is WLKP - since he is approved for Holsteiner and Hanoverian breeding, would that make him acceptable for siring a KWPN Register A foal?
We will be presenting our Ahsianita m2s (AES-registered) (Ulysses M2S x Ahorn) to KWPN for approval and an IBOP. We are just sorry that this recognition has come so late as we had already had her approved Old (GOV) and registered her 2011 filly by Canturo, Cantanita S, with GOV as well in anticipation of registering HER (Cantanita’s) progeny with KWPN. Guess we will be making the effort again when the time comes for Cantanita S.
We certainly have nothing against the other registries and were most happy that GOV made the original approval possible, but we DO like to try to concentrate our offspring in one registry.

This is good news as we have a CH mare in foal to Foundation and was going to register the foal OLD but now that we can have KWPN Reg A papers we can stick with one registry.
Good to know that we can now also offer Reg A papers to mare owners sired by our AES licensed stallion should mare owners wish to go down that route.
I take it this means that KWPN registered AES Licensed stallions that submit x-rays and scope examinations to the KWPN will be able to produce in VB?
Edited as noted that stallions must have GP results in sport
