KWPN stallions that...

…sire smaller foals. By smaller I mean 16 hands-ish.

I know it is really a crap shoot and the mare has a lot to bring to the table. But if there are some KWPN stallions that are fairly reliable at not siring 17 handers I would love to hear about them.

I welcome info on stallions from all three KWPN books.

Thanks!

I have had two Odin babies and both were less than 17 for sure. One was 15.3 and the other 16ish. I think with him, it just depends on size of the dam. The website is outdated, but if you are interested, contact Linda. She’s super nice. http://www.woodmontfarm.com/odin.HTM

I have no idea what he produces in terms of size, but Wamberto is a lovely, well bred stallion and stands 16.1

Metall and Negro are both known for siring smaller horses.

I believe that Goodtimes is known for not adding/reducing height.

Ditto. Our 17.2-1/2h Carolus I mare was bred to him and the resulting offspring is 16.2h.

What a shame that Odin’s web site is so out of date.

I have a gorgeous Iroko mare, 16H. Dam is 16.1. Dam sire was 17.1h.

There are dozens of Ijsselmeer Ikopeno offspring in this area, most of the ones I know of are 15.2-16.1. I have seen one or two that ended up big, but that is literally out of 20+ I have seen in person.
