Lameness vet help-Lexington KY area

Looking for the names or names of someone really sharp for a dressage/ eventing horse .

Both Hagyard-McGee and Rood and Riddle are in easy reach.

TIA

We use Dr. Hunt at Hagyards! Can not say enough good things about him.

Thank you eventr 5218 His creds sound great.

Anyone else have a different vet they use.

Either one of those clinics generally has outstanding vets on staff, including contacts with outside specialists if a consult is needed or wanted. Never a problem getting a second opinion either. Don’t think you can go wrong at either one.

Have personally used Rood and Riddle, everybody was exceptional, even the office staff. Despite their size they were prompt with updates, even if the treating vet was busy with other patients somebody kept me informed.

Advantage of a big clinic is if you don’t care for one vet, there are others of equal or better ability.

Foxwood Equine Sports Medicine - Heather Woodruff. Awesome.

We use Dr Hopper at Rood & Riddle, but like another poster said, there are so many great vets there, you will get the attention you need. It’s a wonderful facility. This is who we use for lameness issues, and we live in St Louis!

I used these people for an ultrasound exam:

I thought they were really great, and being a newer practice were more responsive than either R&R or Hagyards - also less expensive.

If R&R and HDM are close, why would you look any farther? They are the very top when it comes to vets and specialists and resources. Yes, there are tons of other vets around Lex, but if you want the best for lameness, so go to either one. There are lots of sole practitioners and small clinics, but none of them have the imagining, x-ray, MRI, etc machines right there. And yet R&R was always cost conscious when recommending tests. They understand the “little guy” and never take your budget for granted.

R&R also has an incredible podiatry center right in the middle of all its other buildings. If you have a lameness that can be healped by special shoeing, your vet and the R&R farriers work closely together.
