Does anyone have any experience? A google search says positive things, but I’d prefer real life knowledge. Of course will ask the vet. Thank you.
different problem but my trainer has a machine and has used it on hoof abcesses. She feels it really helps. It increases blood flow so theoretically should help laminitis. If you can bring it to stall so horse isn’t walking.
I don’t have specific laminitis experience, but the things I have had experience with are all soft-tissue type of things. I saw enough of my own “evidence” with my own horses from treating them that I decided to invest in my own system, so I could keep them feeling good year round with regular treatments (as that is how the therapy works best).
Like anything, PEMF isn’t a cure-all for everything, but it sure helps for a lot of things.
If I had a horse with laminitis, I would absolutely use PEMF.
Thank you!!!
It is supposed to help with the nitric oxide production in the body, which should be helpful for laminitis issues.
Thank you! I’m, as you can probably tell, caring for a laminitic horse. PPID, IR, and hate myself because I asked his regular vet to pull blood for IR and ACTH. I was told “ you’re nuts”. Another vet is helping me now… I think we will be fine but this is awful.
No bounding pulse, no pulse to speak of actually - just moving differently than normal.
I have the Bemer boots on now. This all started after he was on Sure Foot pads and had body work/bemer so the assumption was muscle. The new vet radiographed his feet out of an abundance of caution and found a bit of rotation.
