Wondering if the striped show jump coloring on the rails isn’t playing a factor too. I mean it looks, walks, and talks like an SJ rail. It’s misreading.
Yes exactly something visually about it is tripping them up.
This Humble horse needs pulled up also.
They were just pulled up with seemingly no issues ahead.
Good. They stopped Rosie. That horse was flagging.
Random, but in the interviews it looks like the riders are drinking water in cans, not plastic.
Oh good they were headed for a fall for certain.
Young Cornelia Dorr has moved up to 20th … impressive
And Kitty King now with a frangible at that same fence.

Noo!! Not Ollie’s day today. That’s the third to have a very similar fall at the brush corner in the water.
And another pin at that fence

Thrilled to see Classic Moet into 3rd place.
Not only is Cornelia now in the top 20 (16th) going into the final day, but she’s also the highest placed American at the moment!

The other two were Oliver Townend and Andrew Nicholson.
Plus, they land going downhill. I feel like the horses start looking where their feet are going to have to land and put the landing gear down too early. I don’t like that fence at all.
So much for the ‘Di Grazia can do no wrong’ sentiments.
There were a lot of eliminations and retirements. It will be interesting to see the stats.
Yes there were some design errors here but thankfully the pins did their jobs and no one or horse has been injured.
I really hope they stop using corners in water soon.
I would think if they lowered the front rail or raised the back rail to make it more visible in would have ridden better. It looks like the back rail is lower than the front. That is based on only seeing the video. I don’t know what it would look like walking the course.
I have always hated the big square oxers. I think the back rail should be raised at least an inch or two. I have always hated the Joules at Maltings, the big square white oxers, but apparently they caused no real trouble this year.
