Disclaimer - I am firmly rooted in the H/J world and not an eventer, so forgive me if this comes across as ignorant.
After watching the throwback video that EN posted of the 1982 Kentucky 4*, it made me realize just how much I miss the eventing of 30 years ago. I really, really dislike all the skinnies and corners and kitschy jumps with crabs and ducks and the like. Sorry if I sound like an old humbug. Perhaps the XC jumps of today are safer, and that is a good thing. I just wish they were more austere, and harkened back to Eventingās true roots.
Then again, I wish that hunter courses were still held over outside courses, without all the emphasis on āmaking the numbersā and auto lead changes.
