I’m trying to find outfits that will truck loads (25 ton truck and trailer) for customers in the SF Bay Area, specifically the coastal area of San Mateo County.
I’ve gotten in on a load from San Joaquin Valley Hay Growers Assn. two years ago, but they told me they don’t deliver to my town in the Santa Cruz mountains, but I was able to get two stacks of a 25 ton load trucked to Woodside, the wealthy horse area closer to the freeway. The price was really good compared to the local feed stores, and the hay was quite good. Last year they wouldn’t return my calls when I wanted to inquire about getting in on a delivery.
I usually stock up for the winter and need to get going on that now. I need about 120 bales of grass/alfalfa. Anyone know of another outfit that would deliver large loads for better than feed store prices?
I have also gone out to the SJ valley and brought home my own pickup truck loads in the past, buying direct from growers, but this year they are getting really full of themselves! In the past they charged about half of what the feed stores charged, but this year they’re charging 3/4 it seems!
Last of all, anyone on the Peninsula in the SF Bay Area want to split a load?
TIA
