First off I need to say THANK YOU to everyone for their advice, stories, and support because you all have made this whole situation so much easier to get through.
After a lot of flushing and a nice combination of antibiotics, we have almost ZERO drainage and the open area has closed so much more since last week. I have gone from twice daily hydrotherapy scrubbing off the scabs and gunk to once daily and I think I will be stopping altogether this weekend. I did have to flush the abscessed areas twice daily for the past 5 days, and I used both plain water and saline to do that (whatever was on hand). I think that helped more than the antibiotics.
Here’s the last look as of an hour ago, and no one is more surprised than me. I never thought she would look so good so quickly. I might update once or twice more but really I think this wound is just about done with being dramatic so unless there is something really interesting going on this will be the last update until she is 100% healed.
And now a shameless photo dump because I think she’s adorable. Even when she tries to roast me with a side eye.
Also forgive her feet but if you guys want to see an example of a stress line, here you go! Her feet are a whole 'nother story. She is already due for another trim after just a couple weeks since her first trim.
