Hi all!
In recent years I have noticed some riders using a large foam square (rectangle?) as a half pad, primarily in the schooling ring at rated shows. For those who are not familiar with this type of half pad, it looks strikingly similar to a foam mattress topper that has been cut down to fit under a saddle.
Can anyone speak to the effectiveness of these foam half pads? I was wondering if they are helpful for more sensitive backed horses? Or if it is a bit of a “fad”? No judgment at all! Just curious
