Largest Horse Barn in the US--78,000 sq feet.

The ignorant comments on that page, oh boy…

The same people that are always saying “poor horsies nobody loves them” never fail to be the same people proudly posting pictures of poorly kept horses.

All that water around the place, looks like bug heaven.

Why do those horses need buckets strapped on their heads.
Muzzles, not “buckets”.
Either they have a lot of biters or overeaters*

*and why they’d muzzle in a stall escapes me
Anyone?

So they don’t chew on expensive finishings?

The barn’s a bit over the top for me, but hey whatever floats your boat and your wallet. Good polo ponies are $$$ so I’m sure they are well cared for, and all that. Think how many horses spend the winter in Wellington w/ little/no turnout. They could have much worse lives for sure.

Appsolute - I believe you are correct. Those saddle stands also have a “J” on them. Rob Jornayvaz is the team captain of Valiente, and also quite wealthy, owning a major part of a mining company in Colorado.

He is breeding polo ponies and here is a video discussing his 130 horses and some shots of the barn.

Google is so much fun…
Google found that there was a jumper show at Valiente Farm last year, and directions put it on 120th street. (Actual address on Wellington Preserve Blvd.)

Google maps shows it to be at 120th ave south and 50th street south in Wellington. Old satellite photo (pre-construction), but you can see the shape of the footings for the barn. Apple maps is even older and shows nothing there.

I guess the buckets prevent them from indulging their instincts and grazing the shavings, 'cos they have nothing else to eat ? Maybe polo players don’t want their pony’s digestive systems full of roughage as they sport around on them ?

It looks more like a big flash toy garage.
Feed bags are very common with the polo crowd.
