I’ve used both and like both.
It really depends on what kind of laser you are looking to purchase. Are you looking at a laser pad or a handheld laser?
I do like PEMF a little more since it can cover more of an area at a time than a handheld laser.
My massage therapist uses a handheld cold laser on muscles that are a little too tight before massaging that area.
I’ve used PEMF on suspensory issues and abscess. My PEMF practitioner is currently treating her horse with a suspensory tear.
For a quick PEMF session, it is about $2/minute. For a full hour, it is $125.
I haven’t had to pay for a laser session.
My horse is vocal about how he feels if the PEMF machine is too strong, he does not like it. But, he has reacted positively to both PEMF and laser therapy. I used PEMF on my ankle right before a ride and didn’t feel any normal tightness or tingling session like I normally do and had more range of motion for a little bit. I haven’t tried the red light on myself yet (don’t know why) but I probably should.
Some people say they felt an immediate difference when they rode immediately after a PEMF or laser session.
I have a red light therapy pad and I like that I can’t overdo treatment with it since it isn’t as strong and it covers more surface area than a handheld laser, but it also takes more time to treat.
