Going way out of my comfort zone here (no pun intended)… Was diagnosed with possible issues a couple months ago; these skin changes are “down there” and somewhat extensive. Had laser surgery about 9 days ago. I’m muddling thru the healing process, but as might be expected I’m mostly wondering how soon I might be ok’d to ride again. My 22 yr old has been sent to my trainer for a “boot camp” so that only one of us is out of shape when this is over. Anyone have experience? I’ve read maybe 4 weeks?
On a slightly more amusing note, out of the clear blue sky (well starting pre-hurricane) a human male is flirting with me. Great timing…
Well, with your possible new human male you can now get an idea of how patient he is with human frailties. May he turn out to be a sympathetic man, with a sense of humor, and the knowledge that his desires are not the be all and end all of your world.
Riding horses comes first! When you can ride comfortably then you can expand your horizons a little bit.
So the update is that I have been cleared for all activities. First ride was today. Not ready for sitting the trot, but no issues at walk, posting trot, a bit of canter and a short hack. HAPPY DAY!!
And I will add that this man has been patient/understanding and has a sense of humor. It has been reminding me of back in the distant high school days before the “all the way” stage.
