Late seasons to Kentucky stallions?

It’s a long shot, but does anyone have any late seasons (LFG) or not?

THANKS!

Timely post I’m looking for the same. I called a couple of my buddies in Lex yesterday asking the same question. They breed a lot of mares and or buy a lot of seasons. I am going to wait until I hear what is on the "street"in someone’s pocket before I call around to the farms. I may go with a foal share if a REAL proper stallion can be had.

I’ll let you know if anything interesting comes up. Less the one I want of course, lol.

My experience “playing” in Kentucky is limited (nowhere near gumtree’s), but I’ve made all my arrangements this time of year for three years in a row. I have been pleasantly surprised how easy it has been for me to book a mare so late in the season. I have also gotten some pretty serious discounts without even really asking. One farm even offered to keep covering my mare into July when she didn’t catch; they didn’t need to do that, that’s supposed to be their time off.

If there’s someone you are interested in, I’d just call and ask.

The only ones who probably can’t squeeze you in are going to be the ultra popular elite sires (obviously) , which I know are out of my tax bracket anyway. You might have trouble with some of the first and second year “new kid” sires when everyone is vying for those 150-200 mare books, although then again, you may not if they are really trying to get as many mares as possible. I’ve had some crazy deals offered to me out of the blue on some of these young sires with huge books because my mare was an A+ nick or a 20/20 match, etc.
