Latino music for freestyle

Hi everyone
I’m new to forum and I need some help.
I’m looking for latino music for my freestyle and I need it for trot. For canter I’ve found super cover- Enrique - Sube me la radio - accordion, but I have big problems finding something for trot. Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot

No specific suggestions but I think you should check YouTube for Zumba videos since their songs tend to be very danceable.

You may want to check out my free web site: www.equimusic.com

You can look up some reggaeton too, most of it is slower than trot and really good for piaffe and passage, but you might find something that works.

A warning about reggaton: Get someone to listen to the lyrics for you. A LOT of reggaeton lyrics are sexual in nature.

Yes! I’m not sure there is much that is clean enough to keep any lyrics!

I assumed people just got the instrumental versions for freestyles anyways? I can’t say I’ve heard a freestyle with music with lyrics.

Whatever music you decide on, check out copyright permissions. You can’t just take a published piece of music and play it in a performance.

Unless you wrote it.

Oh man, if people actually did that… I can’t count the number of people I’ve heard do a freestyle to the GOT theme-song… Let me tell you, it causes quite a SNAFU when someone does their freestyle to it and then the person going in after them has the same idea. It was probably in my “top 10 amusing spectacles as a spectator/ring steward”, easily.

I used La Bamba when I did a fun Halloween dressage freestyle a few years ago. We were both nervous and “up” so the ride itself isn’t that good, but we both had a blast. I edited the guitar part at the end to double in length to fit in all of the walking and canter work, but the main “La Bamba” part was awesome to trot to.

I used music by Charo for a bridleless jumping exhibition. Her music is mostly classical guitar. Lots of fun!

If I were using a song with suggestive lyrics, I might get a little creative and only leave in a specific word or a more innocent line. For example, if I were using a portion of “Despacito,” I would strictly go instrumental but maybe leave in the part where Fonzi (or Bieber, depending on the version) sings the word, “Despacito.” The rest of the song, though, no way!

Calexico has a ton of instrumental music which would be great. Their Toolbox album has a ton of tracks which would work, I bet - I used to listen to it and ride the different gaits which seemed to match.

Someday I will have a freestyle with their music and other local to me artists, but because I know one of the guys who does mixing for them I will see if we can work with the base tracks and modify tempos where needed. Given how great the guys are, I suspect they’ll allow it, and of course I’ll pay for it, but I bet it costs less than many of the dressage specific freestyle music folks charge…

Thanks a lot  I’m still looking…It’s really not simple:rolleyes:

Have a look at remixes too. You might find that some bachata remixes in particular are a good tempo for trot.
