It’s Easy to Register Your Pet as an Emotional Support Animal!

All it takes is 3 simple steps and a few minutes to complete.

Step 1 Step 1: The first step is for you to confirm you have some type of emotional or psychological disability as outlined on this page
Step 2 Step 2: Then qualify your animal as manageable in public using the NSAR Public Access Test
Step 3 Step 3: Finally, checkout!
Click to Get Started!

Here’s What You Get
Once you’ve completed the ESA registration process, and typically within 3 - 4 business days, National Service Animal Registry will send you the following:
1.Two ESA Rocker Patches
2.Two NSAR Photo IDs - These identification cards identify your animal as an ESA (carry these cards with you or clip to your animal’s leash, vest, etc.) The public does not typically know what an ESA is.
3.Two Leash Clips for Photo IDs
4.An official NSAR ESA certificate complete with the NSAR embossed seal
5.Permanent Inclusion of your animal in the NSAR database

Cost $64.95 plus shipping

Wow - for a few minutes of my time and $64.95 I can get any animal I want “accredited” as an emotional support animal complete with patches, ID cards, leash clips, certificate that will probably back off a good 95% or more people trying to remove me and Fluffy from their establishment …

As the first link states, the laws surrounding them are “vague” so God help anyone or any place that does try and take them to court because I am sure it will be an expensive and time consuming legal nightmare …

Here you go - another article for you:

All you need to do is flash that magic “Emotional Support Animal” card and Fluffy can go anywhere with you. Climb on the table in the restaurant, go listen to your favorite performer at Carnegie Hall

TruColours - did you even bother to read any of my post? There is a legal difference between Emotional Support Animals and Service Animals. Anyone can get any dog registered as either. That doesnt mean a thing. The link to the Americans with Disabilities Act that I posted goes over the legal defenition of Service Animal, as well as the legal rights of Service Animals. It specifically says that Emotional Support Animals do NOT qualify as Service Animals.

According to the ADA, the term “Service Animal” is defined as a dog (and in some cases miniature horses) that has been trained to do at least 3 tasks to help their handler with a recognized disability.
In these threads, slight misinformations always pop up. Even owners of SDs can get it wrong.

There is not a minimum number of tasks required. I don’t know where “at least three tasks” came from but it isn’t the ADA (as of 2010):

“A service animal is a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability…The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability.”

That ADA link is a quick read. If COThers care about this topic, give it a once over. If ADA has updated their definition and now specifies three tasks, please point me to that new info.

You are right about the ADA not requiring 3 tasks, but Assistance Dogs International, which service dogs must be registered with in order to go certain places on the military bases near me, does require 3 tasks. I do apologize for my slight mistake.

:lol::lol: I would LOVE to bring some giant boa or python to work. Can you see it? Draped around my shoulders, curled up on the desk, the shelf, the floor, my chair, the chair next to me…Sure would keep the pests and idiots to a minimum.

Or maybe my cat - my excuse would be that he reminds me why I’m at work and keeps me from hurting others. rotflmao

I’m all about service animals but agree that it has gone too far in some cases.
I’d brave your cat and boa body guards to hang out with you at work.

You can’t put a vest on a snake.
This is good to know. I am super supportive of service animals, if they are actual service dogs. Having a severe snake phobia, I would come unglued.
Could you get a service animal to help you cope with the Service Snakes on a plane?

Maybe you should up the ante with a Service Rooster.

Sure did and I agree with everything you have posted BUT that doesn’t mean someone wont pay the $64.95 to declare their animal an “Emotional Support Animal” so they can intimidate people and venues into allowing them to take it wherever they want. Snakes included …

I think I need an Emotional Support mongoose.

I love it that someone so fragile as to need an Emotional Support Animal would intimidate anyone else so as to have their pet with them.

Come to think of it, I’d go balls to the wall for a Portable Cat…. if the cat would comply.

Aren’t Mongii known for their mean toughness…. kind of a reptile in a fur suit?

To cope with the service snakes? I can see it now “OH!OH! Your ESA ate my ESA!”

And MVP you’re just wrong so wrong and I love it. You can hang out anytime, just push the snake off the chair - if you dare …muhahaha

Oh tons of people do just that. But if the businesses would follow the law then all those people would quit wasting their money when they realize that Fluffy still isn’t welcome.

I carry cards with me whenever I have my service dog in training that explain the ADA, what is and isn’t allowed and try to educate whenever possible. Buisnesses knowing their rights and when they can remove a service dog actually helps me, because it cuts down on the fakers that bring in ill behaved dogs that try to attack or play with mine. He’s doing very well in his training but he IS an 11 month old puppy, so sometimes he gets excited and distracted by other dogs still. If the other dogs are working, ignoring him, or at least have a decent handler who redirects their dog then all goes well. When one of the fakers lets Fido try to jump all over my dog because they’re either oblivious or just stupid I lose my crap on them. They do ususally leave out of embarrassment, maybe next time they’ll think twice before lying about their dog.

And I can’t even imagine how hard my poor service dog in training would be working if we were in a restaurant with a snake! I have a massive phobia of them and they trigger panic attacks for me. My service dog is being trained for panic attacks and PTSD triggers/symptoms, he would be driving me nuts(by doing his job and trying to ground me, break the cycle) the entire meal, we would just have to leave.

Me: “Hey, can we hang out? I want to tell you all about some ugly bride’s maid dress I have to buy. But I don’t have pictures. So it’s going to be a long, boring, who-gives-a-sh!t-anyway description.”

You: “Yeah, take a load off. Just move the snake. I really (really, really) need him right now for emotional support.”

That was incredible! I was amazed at how the snake knew where that mongoose was at all times!

Dude, I want to walk around wearing all 10 of my emotional support snakes. Except then they’d be more like physical therapy support because while my ball python would chill, the corn snakes would be all over the freakin’ place. Snake juggling PT exercises?
I dunno, ball pythons might be OK; they’re pretty friendly. But it would be hard to keep the little vests on 'em.
