Lawsuit in Florida - alleged fraud in sale of Fabrege - Case settled - post #340

If you lie down with dogs, you’re gonna get fleas. Should we be all worried that someone who has engaged in criminal behaviour now finds herself wrapped up with alleged criminals?

About this ratio you speak of…who’s counting ?

I know a large white dressage horse named Gretsky. He’s named after the famous Canadian hockey player, Wayne Gretsky, known as “The Great One”. The name suits the horse. There are racehorses named Namath, (after Joe, the NFL quarterback), Sinatra, Gronkowski (NE Patriots), Brando, Streisand, dressage horses named Ravel, and Rousseau. There are the stallions DiMaggio, Vivaldi, De Niro, Gershwin, Voltaire, Clinton, Verdi …

Why should “the 1%…hold themselves accountable, and pick out some celebrity/athlete-names more equably.” ? What an alarming concept, yet amusing at the same time.

I miss Dominick Dunne’s show too. He always dug deep into stuff like this really analyzing the characters involved and their personal histories. Very interesting viewing.

The Rockefeller guy was looking to relocate to New England a couple of years ago…I forget why. He may have a post on here somewhere asking.

I think the connection is legit. Google around, mother is still alive, her grandfather was John D. Rockfeller Jr. This guy has been around the horse world quite a while and was a pretty good dressage rider in his jr/yr days. All of this says nothing about his character, however…

If the mother is still alive, why was he telling people she died of pancreatic cancer back in 2017, and using that as a key reason to revive Dressage Under the Stars?

The more you google, the more conflicting info you find. Hence my curiosity… There is also a Richard P Silvia with the same birthdate as Rick Rockefeller-Silvia who seems to be from Jacksonville, FL. He has a mother… Donna Silvia… she does not seem to be the same person as Donna Rockefeller DeYoung Simpson… who is frequently mentioned as his mother on Google.

I’m just curious as to what the TRUTH is.

And where does the [edit] fit it to this to be so outraged and trying to publicly defend CR and BM? Some close connection to CR and her fraudulent sales or perhaps she’s run afoul of this Rick guy in the past? This story keeps getting stranger and stranger.

Scroll down and look for Welmingh. Pretty sure that is Wachowich’s former horse. CR obviously sold it for her. There is your connection.

YouMom / WizardSleeev posted at length that she did indeed have a negative history with the “Rockefeller”. She claimed he had called her up and made threats, and acted crazy. It seemed like that was independent of this whole situation…

It seems everyone is convinced that YouMom is Wachowich. I’m totally in the dark on that score though, so I’m going to stay mum on that point.

And yes… whoever mentioned that “Rockefeller” did have a legit competition record stretching back several years is correct. That’s easily discernible from Centerline Scores. His identity though, and where he actually came from, and whether or not he is a Rockefeller, and how he financially got started in the industry… that’s all VERY murky and curious. The more you Google, the more questions you have.

One of his websites claims he grew up splitting time between Middleburg, Palm Beach, and boarding school in Switzerland. Anyone remember him as a teen riding in Wellington? Or Middleburg? He’s a pretty good looking guy, and there aren’t that many male riders in the industry - I would think SOMEONE would remember the teenage Rockefeller heir.

I’m completely skeptical… I think he might just be plain old Richard Silvia from Jacksonville, FL and have ZILCH to do with the Rockefeller family… I’m curious as to where he learned to ride though.

Bingo! Yup, that was SW’s horse. Nice to see at least the horse ended up in the hands of someone who can ride.

Interesting that the Success Stories page doesn’t say what the success is (or was) for any of those horses.

I guess they were successful sales? CR presumably doesn’t coach all these riders.

In the case of the girl with Welmingh, looks like she has brought hm up the levels to I1 and is getting great scores, far better than the mid-50s SW apparently struggled to get at Third on him.

Hard to know what it means. A friend bought a horse from that barn that was in no way as advertised. When it arrived at the new barn, the owner realized its mind was fried, and had internal physical problems as well. Vet and training fix bills piled up, and the mare had to be sold again. Interesting that horse isn’t included on the Success Story page, but it is on the Sold page. Yes, they can certainly sell them, that’s for sure !

So she didn’t purchase her for 900k?

Perhaps it was $899k

Looks like the website is just regurgitating a boldly (and rather badly) written press release that they were sent from Pelsar.

I don’t really fault the trainer for putting it out there, she thought she had something to defend and she took it on. But it sucks that a “news” website just publishes something with such blatantly editorial content, and without sourcing it or vetting it in any way, and including no byline.

But this is the world we live in today as far as journalistic standards. They (the website owners/managers) assume it doesn’t matter to anyone “who” wrote this because they get their ad $$ either way. But it does matter, when the content is so ridiculously biased.

That website is not an equestrian news website. Its content consists of paid infomercials, and it’s been that way for years.
Is there a byline with the article ? Um, no.
Ms Peslar doesn’t really explain anything. She disputes the $900,000 purchase price, but that figure came from the lawsuit, not internet gossip. As for Mr Ots being just a friend and a trainer who has horses on her property, that may be so, but he was still involved in the law suit, and gave a statement about his actions regarding the sale.

Why does Ms Peslar want to bring this up again ? Nobody cares. We’ve moved on to the next Roffman horse deal.
