I have one of these and want some more. Don’t know where it came from. Does any one know where I can get one? It is extra long and I think was used as a stallion shank.
Try Quillans, in Paris, Ky. They sell (or can make to order) just about every leather good known to man that is used for horses.
Bartville and the tackshop at Parx have them.
I bought most of mine at Quillins. They are pretty easy to make though. You only need to have someone sew the leather inside out, reverse it, slip it over the chain, then put a couple of stitches in to hold it in place. Or, you can just wrap the chain in sealtex.
If you’re near Presque Isle, Marty Bowman has a tack & leather repair business. She can make whatever you need. She also makes the best custom chaps ever!
