Leadline Prizes

yes that was what I was referring to.

Lead Line classes you really have no idea what might develop. Our youngest daughter only showed in one, it was back east where it was a very competitive class. She won, got a Real silver bowl trophy that is mounted on a walnut base… impressive. (she still has this some thirty-three years later)

That win only fueled her desire to do her best in the years afterwards.

The reason she won was the judge was telling every rider once personally judged, asked what was horsy’s name and whatever then to to turn their horse to the right and return to the line up… problem was judge was standing on the right facing the horse… what the judge meant to say turn your horse on my right which would be rider’s left… so daughter did as judge said, turned horse into the judge, then returned to the line up. Judge was laughing as she realized what she said. (I may have the lefts and rights mixed up but the deal was the judge was telling the kids one thing and they were responding with doing the opposite all expect our four year old daughter)

Even at four she could handle a double bridle. She really is an excellent rider (but was driven by her older sister who if there was ever a natural rider she is) Both went on to be Gold Metal Equitation riders…following their mother’s abilities.
