League of Weenie Eventers :D

I’m in! 2’ verticals are my max at the moment haha!

You made my day  Like Jeloushe, I’m not completely daunted by 3’+ though I will admit I can still gulp looking at some Novice fences. As to aspirations of being an ULR…:lol::lol: LOWER Rules!

I love it! I’ve turned into a weenie after breaking my back in a few places. I’d GLADLY sport a shirt!

The nice thing about the League of Weenie Event Riders is that, really, anyone can take part. But, you need to identify with the mission of LOWER, which is to have no aspirations to upper level riding, staying in your comfort zone despite outside pressure (not to say one can’t push oneself, but it must be at rider instigation) and to do the heights you find fun.
well…I guess I don’t qualify :frowning: I do have aspirations of UL but on my own terms…when we are both ready - if we are both ever ready. I am the ultimate amateur eventer…if I can’t be a weenie I will gladly support you guys!

No worries, we can change the mission  I did make it up before my coffee so it should be suspect anyway

I am a Super Weenie! Able to turn green in the blink of an eye at the sight of anything over 2ft!

I’m schooling at watching videos of weenies schooling at poles on the ground. I’m a Mitty Weenie?
I’m schooling in reading posts of watching videos of people schooling over poles.

I’ve always wanted to even but never had the courage. I don’t like watching UL stuff, because to me it seems too dangerous, but I enjoy watching middle ground to low level.

I’m a wannabe eventing weenie… currently have no horse and no place to ride for lessons :frowning: :frowning: I do get to ride a friend’s horse every so often though and come November, I’ll be able to ride him once a week.

My ultimate goal is BN (maybe N if I get balls of steel LOL)!

Oh, me too! After about cough17cough years off, I just returned to riding in June. All I’ve been able to find so far are the hunter barns. I’m only riding lesson horses now, but the lure of jumping XC again is getting to me. Kind of - it’s also scary as hell to think about now

So if anyone knows of a decent spot to get started in the Pittsburgh area (I grew up in VA - so many more options!), I’d love to join the weenie eventers!

n00bs. upstarts.

edited to suggest looking at my signature

I made us a facebook group. Be patient if you request to join, I’ve got a busy week

I have always considered myself a member of this clique, even though I didn’t know it officially existed

A T-shirt would be fun. Then people could picket the USEA convention wearing them

Pittsburgh is like some kind of weird horsey desert as far as I can tell. I have a dressage background, but I want to learn to jump while still doing dressage stuff, and am not terribly show motivated (as in I don’t want to be at a barn all about pressure to show.) I also want a place with lesson horses for adults because one, I like riding different horses in lessons and two, I am not ready to lease or buy yet. I have yet to come across a place that really seems like what I am looking for. :frowning:

(Plus now two of my housemates are also interested in lessons, but they are both total newbies, not very very rusty reriders. So it would be ideal to find a place we could all ride instead of having to go to multiple barns regularly. Anyone know places good for 10 year old kid beginners AND adults?)

yay!!!

I do offer weenie courses at my place

http://catorilane.weebly.com/cross-country-course.html

the group should plan a road trip to Winnipeg - our eventing group did some unrecognized derby shows (combined stadium and cross country jumps) with a “follow my lead” option at the cross rail/ 2’3" heights where you could follow a more experienced horse around the course. Lots of friendly, supportive people too.

Hey! Me too!! We are at the walking 15-30 mins with a little bit of trot thrown in, again stage. I fully intend to return to BN. I do. Someday. Definitely a LOWER level eventer!

Oooh, you’re local to me!!! “Horsey Desert” describes it perfectly.

If you all want to learn to jump hunter-style, I can PM you my barn. The trainer is great with re-riders and complete n00b kids. But they’re not very encouraging of anything but Hunters and Eq.

I wanna be an eventing weenie tooooo! Does it count that I’m rather terrified of xc jumps in general :dead: and upper level S/J spooks me too lmao. I’m quite content over here in H/J land but I’ve always been too scared to event or jump xc higher than 2’

I can’t remember when or why it came about.

I think a few/some/a gazillion years ago the in thing was to have cliques…or not.

That I’m still a weenie-wannabe is a sad tale of one-step-forward-two-steps-back.

:: looks around :: Does this League have a bar? And a choclate fountain?
