Lean on Pete

Did anyone see this? I hated it. I was prepared for a wonderful movie then left shocked as was most of audience.

I take it, it wasn’t a happy movie with a good ending? You can post spoilers, I likely won’t watch it, I tend to avoid movies about animals as they usually don’t have good outcomes or are terribly sad.

ok Spoiler alert the horse DIES mid movie WHAM hit by a car …awful.

Well, I read the NYT review & it sure does not sound like it was intended as a feelgood film.
I’ll probably Redbox it & watch at home with a box of tissues & the ability to FF.

I sat through the opening wreck in Horse Whisperer in a theater & the rest of the movie was so bad it made me angry I had to agonize over that scene & get nothing from the rest…

Thanks for the warning!

Well, I’m a bit late to this thread, but I saw this movie and wow. Would not recommend. I thought it would be a nice, wholesome, maybe inspiring movie about a boy and a racehorse. Never expected it to go down the dark path it did. Certainly never expected the horse’s outcome.

Quite frankly it was very poorly written and the acting wasn’t that great either.

That was the 5th movie down in my DVD Netflix queue. I just deleted it.

The book was so intense there was no way I’d watch a movie of it.

I saw the movie and liked it, but it was not an easy-going, heart-warming story. Not by any means. But I suspect it was pretty true to real life. So, yes, it was a challenging movie to watch, but I thought it was worth it.
