Lease Language

Could anyone give me a general idea of the language in your lease covering the reponsibilties of both parties in the event the leased horse is injured by accident (no negligence involved) and where rehab will last longer than the remaining lease term or the horse is not expected to recover to pre-accident use? (Horse appropriately insured with major medical/mortality).

I’m trying to keep this vague so not to dox myself :no_mouth:.

Mine said something to the point of:" leasee seeks appropriate medical care of the injury/injured horse and would require 30 days notice to cancel the lease."

They could not cancel the lease without getting the injury seen by a vet to determine next steps/outcome. I cared more about the horse than the lease fees so the 30days was to find a suitable boarding spot. At the end of the day I wanted to know the care of the horse was top priority. I can see a leasee giving sub-par care to a horse out of commission for a year so best for me to let them off the hook.
