leather halter extender?

Hunter person coming over here  While I was in Wyoming, I bought my Perch/TB big lug of a hunter horse a “bling lite” halter, for lack of a better word (not quite the level of show halter, but has some nice silver studding on it). It amazingly fits in the nosepiece, but the crownpiece is a few inches too short to fit his giant noggin - darn!

Is there a place that sells extenders of some sort for leather halters? Or can someone recommend someone in the Atlanta area who might work on items of this nature who could match the leather/detailing? I’ve been searching around on the Internet, but can’t really find what I’m looking for. I just thought it looked cute for him, so it doesn’t need to be show-quality or anything - just something to make it fit and be reasonably OK-looking. Thanks!

You’d probably have to replace the entire crown piece.

The only way I can think of doing it is to buy a belt blank that would fit the buckle. You might be able to find some already dyed close to the color of the rest of the halter. Use some of the fancier Chicago screws to fasten it to the offside ring (or use rawhide strips to tie if you’d like that more), then cut to length to meet the nearside buckle. Punch or drill some holes and voila.

I just found this - going to see if I can rig it this way, even though that means we’ll have two buckles. I would hate to have to replace the entire crownpiece since the detail looks so lovely right now!
