Leather Halter Suggestions - Labor Day Sales?

I was able to snag a great deal on a heavyweight Rambo this morning in an early labor day sale. My TB just broke my leather halter I’ve had for about 7 years. It’s so hard to be able to tell the quality of leather from online adds. Anyone have a halter they absolutely love? That would ideally be fine out 24/7 getting rained on so not looking to spend a total fortune.

Also any other must have labor day sales?

I really like Quillin halters, and they hold up so well, but they never seem to run sales :frowning: I wish they would! I also have a halter to purchase.

I did see that smarkpak is 25% off, and Dover is 20%? Where’d you pick up that blanket?? Who doesn’t need more Rambo :joy:

Quillins for the halter. They last forever.

No idea if running sales.

@Simkie has good taste.

I got the blanket from Smartpak. Luckily both my horses are 75” and I only needed a second heavy so I got the original with leg arches 400g for $240 and it came with a $50 smartpak gift card. It wasn’t part of the Labor Day sale but a general sale.

If you’re on the mailing list, Quillin occasionally runs random sales for 1 or 2 days.

I get their emails but haven’t seen any sales. I wonder if my spam filters are screwing me somehow :-/ Have you seen anything for this holiday weekend?

@stargzng386 score on the blanket! Sweet!

Last sale was the 4th of July. They’re typical of announced the evening before they run. I’ll check back if I see anything!

That would be so awesome, thank you!!:grin:

to us the quality of the Quillin halters is better than a sale price on a lessor halter

Quillin hands down. No idea if they’re having a sale, but the quality is SO good it’s worth every penny.

Tack Shack of Ocala-- fantastic halters! I love their sizing, too. Easy to get my giant headed mare on that fits.

I will third the Tack Shack of Ocala halters. They are lovely quality. I find the Quillin halters too heavy/clunky and sized much too large for my fine-headed Arabians.

No idea if they are running a Labor Day sale, though.

The Tack Shack halters, do they use the hardware that connects the noseband to the cheek pieces (the things that are kinda T shaped, with the three slots for the halter straps) underneath, where you connect the lead rope? It looks like that here but I couldn’t tell if that’s just this model or all of them. I’ve only seen a ring used here…how do you like this (if yours is set up the same way?)

It does look like they’re doing a sale, starting tomorrow!

My halters all have the normal ring in that location. I’ve not seen one like what is shown on that web shot (and they do have a pretty crappy website since the update a while back).

That’s a lovely photo, and a lovely halter on such a delicate head! Interesting that the track halter is set up differently. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one built like that!

This one is their “custom Arabian halter”. It isn’t on the website anymore, but I messaged them on Facebook and was told it can still be ordered by request.

I’ve also found them very responsive via email (or maybe it was the chat option on their website?) Not only did they really quickly answer the question I had about a bridle, but they added the noseband I was curious about to the website!

I wound up purchasing it during one of these “spin to win” sales & think I got 15% off. Not sure how much that varies, but no complaints.

Thanks this sounds just like what I need!

Another vote for Quillins. Love their halters!
