Leather schooling girth recommendations?

I need to get my horse a new, preferably leather, “schooling” girth. My horse is a jumper so he has a belly guard girth to show in, so I just need something for flatting and maybe some lessoning at home.

Requirements:
Triple elastic on a least one end (double loses it’s stretch too quickly, in my experience)
Dark-ish brown color
$100 or so price range (or under)
Would be nice if it was good looking enough to flat around shows in without being embarrassed.

There are TONS of girths I see online or in catalogs that fit these requirements, but it’s hard to tell in a picture - would love to hear if anyone found a good quality el-cheapo model.

Thanks!

I have a beautiful, dark brown leather girth by Horse Fare, it was $95 I think at Manhattan Saddlery. I get tons of compliments on it, in fact its very similar in appearance to my Hadfields girth which cost 3x as much. Its triple elastic on one end, with a split end on the other.

I have this girth

Looks like its at $99 right now. I have the lighter color and oiled it, it has a slightly lighter padding but it can be oiled to darken a good bit. I ride in it everyday and show in it. It has elastic on both ends which I insist on to get a good even fit, it has not lost its stretch so far. If you search “circuit girth” on dover they have a similar model with elastic on only one end.

I use and love Aramas girths. They are quality.

Another vote for the Circuit girth. The leather is nice and I really prefer a girth with elastic on both ends, which is tough to find at this price point.

I have the thinline girth. It is very comfortable for my horse, although a bit more than $100, tho . . .

Try the SmartPak girth. I believe it’s $89 or something around there, and it’s truly gorgeous… gorgeous enough that I use it for showing.

I have this fancy stitched triple elastic girth and i LOVE it. (On sale at the moment for $79.95 too!)

Or for $90 they have a removable sheepskin backed, elastic at both ends girth that we have for one of our ponies.

Thanks for all of the recommendations.

I was thinking about the SmartPak girth for the price and cheap shipping, but that Schneider’s one looks pretty nice too…

This one is great!

Was iffy about the quality but it is REALLY good quality, gives the horse freedom of movement in the elbows as well as keeps your saddle from moving.
Definitely saw a difference in my horse with this girth.

Note: it’s a more inexpensive version of the County Logic, info here: http://www.countysaddlery.com/products/accessories/logic.html

Another vote for the circuit. I bought it last minute because I needed a darker colored girth. I expected it to be just a temporary girth until I could find a higher quality one. I actually love this girth! Great quality for the price, and I have not had the elastic stretch very much

Find a consignment shop in your area and I am sure you will find a wide selection of good girths at a fair price.

Smart Pak has its own brand of girths and they are pretty nice and seem to fit the criteria of what you’re looking for. Here’s the link to one I have. http://www.smartpakequine.com/productclass.aspx?productClassid=6113
