Can anyone tell me if this bridle is legal for dressage? I read through the tack section of the dressage rules and couldn’t find anything one way or the other. https://www.doversaddlery.com/equitus-delta-bridle/p/X1-120157/
that is one I would ask USEF directly. The cheek pieces attached directly to what is essentially a cavasson makes me wonder. They are usually up on many of the latest designs
Also, what a handsome horse, amiright?
Sounds like it’s a “no”. From the USEF rulebook: “Bridles are not permitted in which the noseband is connected to the bit or cheekpiece below the level of the browband.” Shame, it’s a nice looking bridle! Does anybody know the reasoning behind the rule?
The Alpha, which has a flash, is allowed, (see Apoendix A below) but best to ask directly.

I could be wrong, but I believe that rule came out of the Micklem bridles, which comes with the optional bit clips, which stabilize the bit by attaching it to the noseband, but the way it is written, it would rule out Micklems (which are def legal w/o bit clips) and many of these anatomical bridles. When in doubt, email USEF.
We just had that come up. I think it is in the revised rules as legal.
Ditto!
What on earth is that “Cornell” thingamajig for?
It’s a non-surgical solution for horses with a dorsal displacement of the soft palate. I think it’s used in racing mostly.
Thank you for the link to that appendix! I was trying to get to it through the usef page and it wouldn’t work.
Hmm, it’s not listed in the appendix, but the Alpha bridle has the exact same cheekpieces. The horse I will be leasing in a few months actually prefers no flash. Just to make sure I’ll probably email them, but it looks like it should be OK.
OK this is weird, I went back to the Dover site to look at it again, and they took it off the page!
Your link still works and I found it on the regular bridle page
It must be working again, Christa P because the OP was correct, it was not working for a bit yesterday, at least it did not work for me right before the OP made that post and when the OP posted that I was glad to see it was not just me.
Have you looked at the Appendix listing recently approved and pending bridles and bits? The bridles are at the end… https://www.usef.org/forms-pubs/96D17lSsaCo/annex---bits-saddlery-equipment
