LeMieux strap goods

I just got a LeMieux Kudos Clear Arc bridle as a gift and I don’t know what to think of the leather! I love my LeMieux girth - it’s buttery soft and lovely. This bridle? It’s kinda… plasticky?

Anyone got one and know how they hold up?

Is it coated leather? I’d hope no for almost $300 but they way things are going in the world who knows…

I ordered a Lemieux figure 8 bridle shortly after it came out. It was around $300 and the quality was BAD. Very cheap plastic feeling, it looked like really low quality leather that was painted. I could tell that all of the straps would start cracking right away. I didn’t even try it on my horse—I sent it back and got a refund.

aww bummer! I really like the design and I thought it would be so much better in terms of quality.

Me too, everything about the design is perfect except the actual materials it’s made out of. They were just awful.

I’ve felt their girths before and they were decent. I like my county logic girths a lot better though.

I got the Lemieux Arika drop nose bridle on sale for about $100 last summer. I like the design. Is it TOP quality? No, but for the price I am happy with it. The leather is soft, not super thick or luxurious, but also not “plastic-y”. It is my first foray into the ergonomic bridle category and I like it.

I have a quick change type LeMieux bridle that I bought 3 years ago. It’s super soft, nice leather and it’s held up well to a pretty good amount of usage. I haven’t bought any of their strap good lately though

My coach got the working bridle last year (the one that has clips for the bit for easy changes) and it felt nice and soft, not plasticky at all. I picked it up at the tack store for her so I was able to handle it in person as neither of us had any experience with Le Mieux leatherwork before, so we weren’t sure what to expect.

Well, this is all pretty confusing. I knew they had an inexpensive line and a more expensive line, but I wouldn’t expect to hear great things about the inexpensive line and horrible things about the expensive line.

I got the bridle from riding warehouse, so I have a year in which I can return it, but it has to be unused.

Has anyone owned this particular clear arc bridle, and can say how it holds up?

This probably isn’t too much help, but my friend got a PS of Sweden bridle a few years ago from overseas. It looks very similar to yours. It felt super cheap from the get go. It never felt very nice - IOW it didn’t break in. I know she paid about $300 for it, but its quality put me off the brand. It would have cost too much to send it back so she kept it. In my opinion, if you don’t instantly like it and it feels plastic-y, send it back and keep looking.

Well that’s even more disappointing at $499 for the PSoS!

The only other brand that makes a bridle in this style seems to be the Collegiate ComfiTec at about $145 and I saw one and didn’t hate the quality for the price. Can anyone comment on how it holds up over time?

Here are pics of the LeMieux, PSoS and Collegiate. Def less padding on the latter.
