Lemieux suede finish saddle pads - dirt magnet?

I’m deciding between the loire (satin) finish and their microsuede finish. I want to get one in a lavender purple, so a light color. I prefer a matte look but I’m worried that with the suede finish dirt would get ground in their real easily and become impossible to remove. Has this been anyone’s experience?

I haven’t found that they attract dirt. I have a few light coloured ones and they don’t get any dirtier than a regular cotton pad. They are pretty easy to wipe off with a damp rag too.

They actually stay really clean. I don’t have a problem with any of my light coloured ones.

I have exactly one LeMieux suede pad and it’s pretty new, but so far it’s stayed really clean. Our indoor is fairly dusty right now, but my pad is staying really clean.

The suede top surface is not a dirt magnet. Quite the opposite. However the inside that touches the horse absolutely is a dirt magnet.

Mine seem to stay pretty clean inside and out.

I have both the Loire and the suede. I personally prefer the suede and don’t find them to hang on to dirt/debris on the outside. As others have said, the undersides (on both) grab horse hairs like crazy, but I’ve learned to live with that. LeMieux sells little velcro balls that you can put in the wash that are supposed to pull the hairs off, but they haven’t worked at all in my top loader machine (maybe better in a front loader?). Either way, as far as dirt/staining, I just find that the lighter colors will stain easier than dark, but that’s pretty much how it goes with all saddle pads I think.

I have the LM suede pad in Lavender (it’s my only pad, btw) and I don’t feel it attracts dirt. Any staining is from my saddle, which washes out easily.

Before my Tiger’s Tongue started falling apart, it was great at removing hair from the underside.

I adore this pad and although I’m lusting after a few more, the minimalist in me is quite content with just the one.

I find a dandy brush gets the hair off easily!

I just bought one and have used it about 1 week or so and really like it. It doesn’t seem to be collecting hair or dirt…and the one I am using it on is shedding at the moment. I would say that it collects less hair on the underside compared to my BOT pads. I may order another once I see how it looks after washing it!

Love the lemieux suede pads!

In general, washing things more frequently is a good idea to keep items looking new. I have a terrifyingly large collection of their suede and satin. The suede wash up pristine every time. I wash them pretty much once I can start seeing the start of a saddle outline. Roughly 7-10 rides in the winter and 3-5 in the summer. I line dry mine inside out but have also thrown them in the dryer in a pinch. All of mine look new and some are going on 6 years.
