Why are you showing us video of horses in the cooling tent and not the US riders?

i am glad I get to see it “live” now–in full vs hoping to catch some of it on TV. You know we never get large slots on TV.
If only their camera people were horse people. Then we’d get the shots we want.
I have a feeling this is a universal feed, meaning it is not NBC cameras doing the filming. Hence, they aren’t always going to focus on the U.S. While it is a little frustrating - like during Karen’s round when they were showing the misting tents, I am personally so thrilled with the overall quality of the coverage that I am biting my tongue. 
But they aren’t showing any of the US riders. First and last fence?

Me thinks its because they want all of us watching in on TV when they rebroadcast.
I suspect you’re right Fairweather. There was a lot of filler during Karen’s ride (lots in the cooling area, a couple overhead shots showing NO horses, the leaderboard, more cooling area, more overhead shots…).
Like I wouldn’t be watching it again on TV anyway! :lol:
There’s also the fact that this is live, which means they don’t have as much control over what footage they are getting. No, I don’t work for NBC but I did work in the media and know how difficult live TV can be.
Overall, I think the footage is excellent and I am planning on writing NBC a big thank you note. 
And I plan on watching whatever I can find on TV as well. Would love to hear more commentary over the rounds.
FW–probably right…get us back to the tubes. However, why would I this is great. No commericals and replays when I want !!
Besides the mid atlantic weather has been perfect–I am off to ride tomorrow and I can watch on the laptop at night!

Diva98 is correct. This is a “universal feed” not done by NBC crews.
I don’t work for NBC, either, but do work for NBC’s parent company and I asked one of my NBC contacts about this last week.
we did get some Phillip, yay!!
I’m not sure how anyone can complain about the coverage considering this is the first time we’ve ever been able to watch things live as they happen. I for one am very excited to have what we do have and hate to see people complaining about it.
This is awesome to have the coverage. Much better then taping hours of tv for 30 min of coverage!

oh blyst - we can always complain! Said with a giant smile, because of course this live feed is fabulous! But of course now I’m dreaming of access to the individual cameras next time, so I could watch every horse over the brush in one box, and cobble together images from every camera for some riders in another box, and, and, and.
ps - I would have been less happy had they shown less of Phillip, but they redeemed themselves a bit for having not shown more of becky and karen, so I’m sheathing my sword.

This is eons beyond what we’ve had EVER!
They are most likely going to focus on the Americans when it airs on TV tomorrow, so they want to give us a reason to tune in.
