so my friend in Texas is looking for a solid fundamentals program for her girls, with a focus on excellent horsemanship. The discipline isn’t as important as the quality of the instruction. They have just bought a house in Magnolia, and would like to stay reasonably close to the area.

None of the family has any horse experience, with the exception of mom, who had a rank backyard horse for a couple years 30 years ago.

I know about and told her to check out Sherwood Sporthorses, but I’d like to give her some other options too.

Lone Star Saddlebreds may be worth checking out - riding academy, youth club with different activities, “classroom” time to learn about horses.

I rode Saddleseat as a kid and am coming back to that as an adult. I’ve been trying different things, but my area has lots of good Saddlebred barns, and the bigger barns have really great and well-developed youth (and adult) riding programs. I have a new appreciation for these lesson programs after seeing my other options!
