Lesson Barns in Boston Area for Teen

One of my clients and her family will be moving up to the Boston area this summer. She’s a teen, has ridden for about 2 years, and previously owned a horse. She’d like to show in hunters or jumpers. She’s jumped a bit but nothing over maybe 18 inches. She can be a little timid of cantering on faster horses, so it would be good if the place has some schoolmasters with an uncomplicated canter (her horse liked to build and it caused some anxiety for her).

The place doesn’t need bells and whistles, just safe horses and the possibility of showing in some local shows.

I’d love some suggestions to pass on to her parents.

They aren’t entirely sure on their location around Boston, so any suggestions for the area are welcome.

Where they land to live will determine the direction to start looking for barns. Travel around and through the city can be a bit of a trek so best to find housing first then figure out barns. If they end up moving to the north shore for example they definitely will NOT want to find a great barn on the south shore!

Yeah, I figured as much, but because of their job they may not know exactly where they end up until the last minute (military). So I was hoping to give them some options so the girl felt a little less uprooted. Something tangible to look forward to.

There will be options so she shouldn’t despair but the housing market is on fire so it makes no sense to try and find barns that maybe much too far from where they find housing.

Tons of options here, but really does all depend on where they land, especially as there are about half a dozen places around eastern MA they could end up as a military family… and none of which are within an hour drive of eachother. Shoot me a PM if you have any more details and I can make suggestions!
