Let's see photos of your clipped horses!

Just because! There are always a bunch of threads every w![](nter about clipping and I thought it would be fun to show some photos of your clipped horses. Also, to make it helpful for people what clippers did you use!

I clipped my pony yesterday and cleaned it up a bit today. The lines look better - in two weeks it will look fine. I am trying to decide whether to finish clipping his belly - he is really ticklish down there. I used Wahl iron horse.

Photos are from yesterday.

^I finished this awkward area today for the most part.

One more just for fun of my wiggly/silly pony:

Here is a picture of my mare this past spring. I always body clip so I don’t have to deal with weeks of shedding. In the picture I hadn’t finished completely-still needed to finish stomach and legs. https://flic.kr/p/mWM8Wk
This fall, I did a modified Irish clip on her. I keep forgetting to take a picture of her. I started to use an Oster clipmaster the first time I clipped her. She had never been clipped before and the noise made her kind of antsy. I finished with an Andis 2 speed with the T84 blade. For the Irish clip, I used the Andis with a size 10 blade to get my lines and then clipped the majority of the hair with the Andis T84 blade.

I bodyclip as a side job … 20 horses a month for the past 2 months. These horses aren’t mine, just some of my customers =]

wow! great work!

Two Dream Rides: Awesome clip jobs. And very cool looking barn in the 2nd full clip pic.

P.

Thanks guys… 88 clips so far this year… Secretly hoping I can hit 100  And have everyone love their new looks.

OMG “clip art with gems.” That’s hella cute.

On the trace clip, how did you decide how far up to go on that belly-meets-hind-leg cowlick? I’m used to using anatomical landmarks to dictate most of the lines I use for clipping. Did you just choose half way up and call it good?

Pretty much, I got it even and called it good. I’m also not a big fan of ones that go all the way up to the point of the hip bone. I think it makes most horses look thinner and more angular than they are. And I think wider ones tend to look sloppy. I like them neat and on the smaller side. So, unless an owner specifies a certain size of it, that picture is what I aim for.

This is amazing! Soo cute and perfect for a pony. I enjoyed doing “clip art” on my horse too, his name is Zak

My old boy, twig, blanket/chase type clip with my andis body clippers

Excellent clip jobs, TDR! It takes a steady hand and sharp blades to be so precise. Beautiful!

Aww thanks guys! I tell folks if they don’t have the time, the tools, or the patience to call me and I will give them a high quality, low cost clip (for this area - not sure how I compare nationwide).

For those wondering, I run Andis 2-Speeds. I prefer the older model to the newer one (but I have 1 pair of each). I have a stock of 8 T-84 blades I rotate with. Each clip starts with a freshly sharpened blade. I replace the blade drive every 6 horses. And I clean regularly with odorless mineral spirits.

I don’t have one of my newest hunter’s clip. It’s a blanket clip.

I do all of my clipping with a pair of Oster A5 clippers. I am in the process of buying a set of “real” body clippers.
