Let's talk about Arabian/WB crosses
I dont care where they come from… just asking if there are any…if you know of any please share…
There are very few breeders here doing AA to AA. A lot of people think the foal must have an Arab parent to be registered. I think another reason is the preference for WBs over TBs in pedigrees in recent years.
Ann McKay bred AAs on a large scale until she retired recently, some as far as fifth generation. That is when you get the uniformity the French perfected.

Thanks to everyone posting they are breeding or have bred or have one! I just wish you all would post bloodlines too! This will help everyone to learn what lines are being crossed and what has been successful. Crabbet, Polish, Spanish, Egyptian, etc. just say which family not the actual lines. Its like saying I have a F Line Oldenburg - which doesn’t really tell us anything.

Loving all the Crabbet!
The one we produced that is high scoring horse in the entire 2012 YHS series is by UB40 and out of a mare by Fyre One (*Aladdinn x Fyre Love x *Bask) and out of a mare by Bold Sundancer (The Real McCoy/Tornado) x *Sabah El Zarhaa x Morafic. Photos below.

Awesome an F2! I too would Love to see her. Can you share the Crabbet lines. I too have found that the Crabbet & Polish(*Bask) lines work very well when crossing to WBs. It may have something to do with the fact that they are mostly bred to be ridden. Could be something to that.
Here is the little red dragon schooling a month or so ago - timing on the photo wasn’t great, but it was the best one of the day. I will have to get some pics of her in the double bridle - she thinks she is “all that and a bag of chips” when she is in the double. The trainer loves her, as does the eventer who comes to jump her.

And here is her pedigree - http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/pflashpoint .

Tying in AA’s with Arab bloodlines in sport horse breeding, the late Fairlyn Gemini (AA in the UK) was UK Trak approved and lifetime approved with the SHB of GB. He has AA, Trak, and British sport horse (and pony) offspring. http://www.ahs-premium.org.uk/Fairlyn_Gemini.htm Since I am interested in the 1940 stallion, Oran, I noticed that Fairlyn Gemini has two lines to Oran (via Orion and Royal Diamond). http://www.sporthorse-data.com/d?d=fairlyn+gemini&x=0&y=0

In Australia, the now deceased AA (actually 7/8 Arab), Deveron Duvall, was used in sport horse breeding. http://deveronstud.homestead.com/residentstallions.html (Deveron Duvall is at the bottom of the page) Deveron Duvall has three lines to Oran (all via Sindh). http://www.sporthorse-data.com/d?d=deveron+duvall&x=0&y=0

I recently learned of a purebred Arab stallion in Ireland that passed away in the last few years, Red House Condor, who was mostly used to produce cross bred ponies (mostly w Connemaras) who were successful show and sport ponies. Apparently, in the last few years of his life he was also bred to ISHs and IDs with some good results. http://www.irishsporthorse.com/_fileupload/publications/Section_7_FINAL_d60173f3f3e95570b1ce00919ef3928f.pdf Red House Condor has three lines to Oran (all via “Indian King”) http://www.sporthorse-data.com/d?d=red+house+condor&x=0&y=0

Oran also appears three times in the pedigree of Magic Domino AHS, a 100% Crabbet stallion bred in the UK who was Trak approved in Canada before being imported to the US. I believe he has some Trak offspring in CA. He has at least one Trak son that showed to GP dressage. http://www.sporthorse-data.com/d?d=magic+domino&x=0&y=0

Digging back further in history, the hunter pony stallion, AM Lord Elope, was a great-grandson of Oran. The 1957 stallion, The Count of Al-Marah, was also a great grandson of Oran. The Count of Al-Marah was trained to haute ecole by the great Ward Wells. (The Count of Al-Marah and Magic Domino AHS also both have lines to Rissalix as does Red House Condor. Oran/Rissalix seems to be a good nick for sport horse characteristics; there are examples of Oran/Rissalix horses that have been UL eventers and dressage horses.)

I’ve included two images of “Oran” and one of “The Count of Al-Marah”

Hmm, why does it say Attachment 37234? How do I get the photo embedded in the post?

And I am not sure why it is showing “Attachment 37234”? How do I embed a photo in my post?

Very weird - now I see the photo in THIS post, but not in my original post.

And now I don’t see the photo! ???

Weird for sure! I’d try editing the original post to see if the image insertion works on another try!

No, it just inserted another “Attachment xxxxxx” (different attachment number, but same photo). I deleted it out to try to keep the confusion at a minimum.

Can anyone see the photo if they click on the attachment link?

I can see it now!

I have no idea what I did so it is now showing up in that post. When I go to advanced edit, I can’t even see where I have attached it.

Someone asked earlier about AA’s used in WB breeding, and I think this may be a good example of a highly successful horse with up-close AA blood in him - Blue Loyd, Oldenburg gelding by Landor S out of a mare by the AA stallion, Hadj A.

http://www.horsetelex.com//horses/pedigree/354403

Blue Loyd and rider Cian O’Connor won the individual bronze medal in show jumping at the London Olympics.

Ok, here’s my girls. Be kind to the AA rider (me) and keep the critiques to giggles please
This is the older of my siblings. The dressage photo is from when we were still attempting to be a dressage horse. The jumping photo is from her first jumper show with my trainer aboard.

And this is the younger mare. In the first photo she is barely 5 and she didn’t fully mature body wise intil she was 7. The second photo is her packing me over a 2’6". She has much more scope, but we decided to have me do the long stirrup division due to my not having competed over fences in a decade.

She’s a cutie. Makes me regret even more that I never bred to Feiner Stern. She reminds me of my oldest Budweiser cross.

Really pretty mare. I remember seeing some video of UB40 when he was a young horse. Wonderful movement.

I also did always like Fyre One. Not surprised that the cross worked since I think Polish and Crabbet work well with warmbloods due to their strong conformation and good movment.

He is growing up nicely! I know he’s not yours, but do you know if he’s under saddle yet? I’ve actually been watching this youngster as he grows up, love that UB40 is his sire.

Little Red Dragon, haha. She’s beautiful! Not that I’m planning on breeding my E II filly in the near future, I do think about where to go with her when the time comes. Its nice to see an F2. Well done!
