Lettia Clik Memory Foam Girth - experiences?

Looking for a good comfort option for a potential new girth. I was considering a mohair girth, but came across this as well. It seems like it would be real comfy for the horse. I also have used a coolmax Lettia girth that had the spring-loaded buckles and I liked the feature a lot.

Who’s used/has one? What do you think? Big enough difference to praise it or meh?

I have not used this particular Lettia product, but I am wary of the brand overall because I bought a girth from them that broke (in a non-stressed spot thankfully, it was the billet keeper on a dressage girth that randomly bit the dust entirely) very soon after purchase. Like, within less than 10 rides.
…???

So overall wary of entrusting The Thing That Keeps Me Aboard to that brand.

I’m sorry to hear about your bad experience! I can understand why you’re leery. Did you contact the place you bought it from? Maybe it was a lemon?

From what I’ve read, people have raved about their Lettia Clik girths, but not the memory foam one. They make another that is neoprene and has a gel insert. Basically the same girth just without memory foam. After reading some reviews on retailer websites, it seems the memory foam gets really stinky easily from sweat and is not the easiest to clean, which makes sense.

The clik buckles are REALLY bulky, and the tongues seem really thick.

I LOVE my mohair girths, as does my pony, if that helps any.

Don’t love

Bulky and I don’t like the ‘clik’. I have owned mine for 3 weeks and I was out shopping for a new girth today. Can’t wait to find a replacement for it.

If you’rellooking at that girth, why not the Professionals Choice girth? I’ve heard the lettia girths are not very breathable - the Ventech girths from Pro Choice solve this and ddon’t cause rubs. Love mine!

I’ve had the Pro Choice girth before. I don’t believe neoprene to be breathable at all, even with holes in it. I love that girth as it’s very durable and easy to clean, but I was hoping for something that ups the comfort factor for the horse.

If I cannot find something else, the Pro Choice would be my go to girth.

I have one of these in a dressage length; I don’t mind the clik part, and it seems durable; a barnmate has had hers for quite a while. What I don’t like is the following: The elastic seems very stretchy to me; when I get girth tight enough to not shift, the buckles are up against the end big “keeper” that you put the billets through, That piece is now almost above the end of the girth.

It also seems that my horse needs a little more of a shaped girth around the elbow area. But he is a compact guy; I just think it sits too close to elbows.

I love my pro-choice girths. I’d have to wonder if memory foam would be even hotter than the pro-choice? My memory foam bed can get over hot at times.

I bought this one for my slightly girthy horse a couple of months ago and I just sold it to a barn mate. It seems like a very comfy forth with the memory foam, the click is nice when doing up your girth from on top of the horse, but in the end it stretched too much once it was warm and didn’t fit my horse. Also, the clik was pretty bulky under the leg but this may have just been since it was up on the top holes for me. I just received the thinline Hunter jumper girth and so far it’s perfect for that I need!

Not good. I thought it seemed cool too until I tried it. I do like the clik buckles, I do not like the memory foam.

Not a fan of the pro choice girth. Used one on a very delicate horse who gets rubs very easily. The ven tech pro choice girth rubbed just as bad as leather… Guess I’ll stick to my fleece and sheepskin over here

I have several Lettia girths, but one without memory foam or the Clik. I am really pleased with mine, how easy they is to wash and how well they have held up. I don’t like the bulk of the Clik buckles though, and see no reason to try the memory foam when the plain Cool Max fuzzy girth works well for my horses.

I’ve never had the Lettia girth, but I adored my Classic Equine Soft Touch girth. I had to sell it because horse got too fat, however I will be buying another.

Can’t stand the clik buckles because they also click when you undo your girth instead of just slipping off easily.

This is my favorite: https://www.smartpakequine.com/mobile/pt/6115

Doesn’t rub my easily offended horse, good anti-slip properties, buckles are easy to use and haven’t rusted. I also enjoy washing it off with a hose.

I got it from either dover or smartpak, and wherever it was took it back without question and refunded me, and I bought something else.

I had the same problem as meupatdoes with a Lettia girth, the elastic stretched and gave out – did that thing elastic does when it is totally useless any longer on one of the billet connectors. So one of the billet pieces was two inches longer than all the others and I didn’t trust it any more. Plus, they have like four pieces of elastic once you consider the layers, and they all gave out, so I figured the rest weren’t far behind.

But mine was after about 20 rides. I bought from a tack store and no longer had the receipt (who would expect that?) so I had to throw it away. Never again!

It was one of the older CoolMax shaped ones, this was quite a few years ago. At least 6, I lived in DC then. Bought it at the Surrey when it was on Potomac Ave so maybe even more. I don’t recall when the Surrey moved exactly.

Mine rusted in about 20 rides…and I never hosed it.

I have one. Not a huge fan of the buckles, but love the memory foam. Great for sensitive, girthy horses.
