Lexie won her Dressage Class at Morgan Nationals

Great achievement by your daughter! Congratulations! Lexie is so cutely beautiful. She certainly has an elegance to her!
The number one love of my life horse was a Morgan stallion, then eventually became a gelding. Flight. Ravens Flight of Apollo. Gorgeous and smart and my bottom half. Riding him was as natural as breathing. I will always love him. Many more Morgans during and after Flight. I now have my last one, out of my fabulous park harness mare.

Love how your daughter allows Lexie to show her best movement. You can see her relaxation and softness. They are beautiful together and no surprise at all they won. Congratulations!

just got a note from my wife, Lexie (GW Inspiration) won the World Championship for Intro Dressage. They had their final Dressage class this afternoon, the scores are not posted yet (edited to add she won this class by five points)

the proof photos are up … Class 517, her proofs start with #55 going through #87

Again some very nice photos of her

So now I can hear Fig and Lexie talking My Championship Was Harder to Win… well both were against a lot of very good horses.

Tomorrow Lexie goes into the mares division of the Sport Horse in Hand

a few notes:
Lexie is 14H even, daughter is just over 5ft 10 inches

Lexie’s registered name is GW Inspiration, she was not registered or named when she was given to daughter. Daughter got to name her the “GW” part of name stands for the breeder who gave her Lexie, Garn Walker. Lexie was a gift to daughter by Garn and his wife. Being a horse owned by a busy trainer, the clients horse came first so there was no time to work with Lexie. The Walkers have been very kind to my daughter.

This all makes me so happy clanter, especially as you say she’s a “backyard” horse, that makes me totally Team Lexie. What a wonderful story!

Your heart horse shares a grandsire with my first horse, who is currently living her best retired life as she nears age 30 this spring. They are both by sons of Empyrean Apollo (her sire is Apollos Reflection)

So many wonderful pictures of that and other classes, don’t know how you are going to pick just a few.
That is a nice problem to have, right? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

yes, there are so many very nice photos, Howie has a very talented team of photographers who all are top notch. I am impressed with the quality of the composition/framing of these Proofs, these are not the finished product

Daughter has worked under the tutelage of the Walkers since she had Socrates. Over the time they have developed a close relationship where advise is freely given. I am proud of her accomplishments and dedication to her horses’ welfare and development. She and her horses have worked very hard to reach her desired goals

an update is needed for those following ,

Lexie won the Sport Horse in Hand Mares division but placed 3rd overall,

got a photo from our other daughter Lexie’s mare class win

The winner of the Stallions/Geldings was Susan Motter the breeder of Fig and Socks, Susan won with the highest point score thus her ranch has taken this Sport Horse in Hand World Championships for three of the last four years with three different horses. Each year there were about 30 total horses that were in the classes,

So with Dressage and Sport Horse classes behind Lexie her next task is to put on the the western tack for the GN Ranch Riding Pattern 4 Open (and Pattern 5)

photo of daughter and Lexie after picking up their Dressage awards

some of the loot. I remember when Foxie won her first cooler our dog took it as her bed

Morgan Grand Nationals is huge on loot. I’ve gone as a spectator/groom a few times, and one time it was so cold that my friend Liz wrapped me up in 2 coolers that her carriage horse Chip had collected at the show. That horse probably has a dozen coolers at this point.

it is a well run show that attracts exhibitors of all spectrums from regular people to very rich, all are there to enjoy seeing the breed at their best

We have been attending/exhibiting since 1991

Love it! this could be happening at our place too though we don’t have the horses/peeps to do it; love to see it happening!

I love the variety in Morgan and Arab shows, where a horse competes in different classes, western, English even carriage.

We have worked hard to preserve the right to keep horses at home. At least here in my little city I got that right embedded into the city’s master plan when I was on Planning & Zoning.

Yes there are numerous city ordinances that we have to navigate through but everything is clearly spelled out, all ambiguity has been removed down how to measure a horse to clearly identify it as a “small” or “large” animal

But when we have people visit who had never been here their first words are We never knew such a place could exist as we are really in the middle of several million people yet here we are.

Oh wait, they get coolers for National Championships, too? Chip has over 20 coolers, I’m sure. Liz chose to retire him from OKC this year as he’s getting up there in years, and she wanted him remembered at his best. Her young horse Cinco is cleaning up this year in sport and carriage classes. Chip’s the only horse I’ve ever driven.

there are a lot of coolers given out for winners (Blue) and reserve (Red)

there needs to some added about my daughter’s success, she has worked hard for these championships, endured hardships and pain. Most people are not aware she nearly had her right foot amputated at least that was what the first doctors thought was all that could be done. She had a horse fall with her, she broke nearly every bone in her right foot. She was told she would never walk correctly again.

Yet she does even so at times the pain returns.

To see her ride flawlessly is a statement to her courage and perseverance to over come obstacles

And then there is an added thing, she and her oldest brother were very close, he always wanted to win a World Championship, he LOVED the Morgans, I think she is winning these for him
