Lexington/Keeneland this Thursday? (12 May)

Cross-posted in Off Course

Looking for anything fun to do this Thursday around lunch time!

This Thursday is my fini - a ‘fini flight’ is a person’s last flight in a particular type of aircraft, usually followed by food/fun/farewells. I will be starting training for a different aircraft soon, so this Thursday I’m hoping to take a 2-ship to Lexington if weather and training requirements allow. We won’t have tons of time on the ground, but I was hoping to go across the street to Keeneland if there will be much worth seeing. Lunch itself is definitely happening at Wallace Station!

I know there won’t be any racing going on, but is there anything else other than just the tour the grounds we might be able to do? Any locals know of anything going on in Lexington then? Although a bourbon distillery tour would definitely be fun, we obviously can’t drink so I don’t know if it’d be worth it. Out of the 4 of us going I’m definitely the lone horsey person, but I think they’d be interested in just about anything…plus I get to call the shots this time so they can deal

Weather will determine if this actually happens or not, but I’m eternally hopeful…

Tour Calumet? As I recall, it is also just about across the street from the Lex airport.

From what aircraft to what aircraft? (a jet junky wants to know  )

Here’s a useful website that I posted in another thread that can be anyone’s go to for things to do in KY as well as places to stay and eat.

Thanks all for the suggestions. Weather unfortunately did not allow for a Lexington trip :frowning:
