What is the market for finding individuals interested in leasing horses within the Lexington area? My husband and I are relocating - should close on our farm end of this month matter of fact - and I am tentatively looking for lease scenarios for 2 of my 4 horses. Everyone is moving with us and we have plenty of acreage at the farm so I am going to be picky but I thought I’d check in and see if its even something that is viable considering the number of OTTBs I imagine are in the area. I would be offering care leases for 2 older horses (1 mare, 1 gelding) both well educated and well minded but many years out of shape and older. They would be care leases b/c the person interested in either horse would need to be comfortable spending time doing light conditioning work to properly prepare them for actual work. Anyway, just curious if anyone has an opinion on the viability of this plan!
