Does anyone use these in a herd of horses? Like or dislike? Which brands do you prefer? Who carries cooked ones? I am not interested in pressed only cooked version.
anyone?

anyone?[/QUOTE]
I am currently using Forti-Sweet tubs in my pastures for horses that are living outside 24 hours a day. I was only feeding them 1/8 of a scoop twice a day, mainly to lay eyes on them & make sure they had 2 eyes, 4 legs, & 4 shoes. The horses were not really getting anything, nutrition wise, out of the feed. I look at the tubs as a way for them to get the vitamins & minerals they need, along with their forage, without the feed. I still go out every morning & evening & drive through on the 4 wheeler to check on everyone. The horses love the tubs, however, the molasses in them make a little bit of a mess & the girls think they have “tar” all over themselves. lol
I would love to get an idea of brands and pros and cons on using them. Do people who grain their horses, but not up to the recommended daily allowance use these? Are they safe to use with a mixed herd, ones that get the RDA and ones that don’t? What’s the difference between cooked and pressed?
Two friends of mine use the HorsLic and swear by them. One has even pulled her PRCA pick-up horses of grain and only use the lic. The horses LOVE the tubs. The other has it out in the pasture for her performance driving horses, but she doesn’t keep them in any of her stalls. So they don’t get it 24-7.
The biggest thing I hear them complain about is the lic gets EVERYWHERE. All over their faces and anywhere they scratch. It’s easy to wash off, just not fun to look at.
The other thing is, when you first start up, they lick like crazy. The ravenous licking stops after a bucket or so once they “catch up”, I guess. The both say their horses maintain, perform, and the coats/mane/hooves are better. I don’t know if it’s cooked or not.
