Tattered - your guy is looking so good!
Oh yes, I still have Lido, although between work (health care reform - still not as much fun as you might think) and the godawful winter (polar vortexes 1 through 45), we haven’t done much this year.
I’ve reached a place in my life where I am seriously questioning if I want to show any more. It might only be next year’s rated TB division that brings me back, we shall see… But in the mean time I’m having a great time doing hunter paces, jumping jumps, and … dabbling into western. Like I’m serious, I want to see if he can do that working cow horse or team penning stuff. I’ve put a really good back on him and we are starting rollback work. He’s um, good. I have a guy who rides him once a week and does reiners. He said he would normally laugh at the idea of a TB busting out a reining move, but not Lido. I just need to have the right introduction to cows and some clinic work and I may go full on dark side (except for the part where the jumps are not coming out of the arena). However see above re work and weather for failure to execute in this area as well.
But we got in a few fun rides (and pics!) this year. For your viewing pleasure…
Lido - the view from up top (helmet cam) 58 seconds of WIND!
Then we had a hunter pace. There were pics and even vids.
you know you are with hunter/jumper types when we all talk about how cute the jump is. Eventers probably wouldn’t be caught dead muttering such things
But to be fair, he is kind of cute over a fence

And we went on a weekend trip to SoPi, where there were not a lot of pics, just this video, which kind says it all. Literally. (LOVE this saddle pad - I designed it myself and it kind of sums him up)
SoPi weekend
But rides and actual progress has been in short supply this year, I finally feel like in the last month I have a bit of a schedule maintained. Today was the first time we have jumped a mostly 3 foot course in ages.
