Lightweight fly gear

Flies are starting to get bad here…

At a certain point, I’ll give up taking Feronia for walks in the woods, but for now, I’m looking for very lightweight fly gear that doesn’t need to be attached to tack. I used to use Cashel Quiet Ride stuff when I was still riding her, and tied it to her saddle. I’ve used it with a saddle pad and surcingle for the past 2 summers, but don’t like how it fits when used that way.

She has anhydrosis, so I’m looking for a very lightweight fly sheet or something designed for riding that doesn’t have to be attached to tack (except possibly to the halter behind her ears). Coverage for neck, chest, and sides if possible. I think Bucas makes something but I haven’t been able to find it on US sites.

Any ideas?

I have the Bucas. The zebra pattern terrifies most horses who see my horse wearing it, otherwise, it’s great. I ordered it through “The Equine Warehouse.”

Hm, the saddle cut out makes it not work for my purposes.

I need a really lightweight, breathable flysheet or something like that.

I bought this one and actually like it. I’ve purchased many I didn’t like😀. I found it at Performance Horse Blankets in my horse’s size. It’s very light weight. It seems to snag easily but it draped well and my horse doesn’t get hot in it. Yet.
