Lightweight Raincoat Recommendations

Searching for a new lightweight raincoat to ride in-- must be black, must have a stow-able hood.
Bonus points for it being lightweight-- but must be waterproof!
Not price-sensitive assuming I can return it after trying on at home.
Looking for your best recommendations, please!

Wanted to add-- need something short enough that I can ride/jump in it! Packable hood a must for horse shows.

Thanks in advance for recommendations.

I looked at the website. They make a short raincoat in black.

I have a lightweight raincoat from Eddie Bauer that’s awesome, and have loved all the outerwear I’ve gotten from them in general. This isn’t the one I have right now but it does have the stowable hood: https://www.eddiebauer.com/p/D5656641/women’s-packable-rainfoil(r)-jacket?sp=1&color=Blue%20Spruce

I have a Noble Outfitters Pinnacle Jacket that is very show-appropriate. You can often find them used. I think there are two on eBay right not.
I wish they hadn’t stopped making this jacket–it’s amazing.

I absolutely ride w t c in my long raincoat with thigh straps. My big requirement is it has to cover my knees. If your knees are in the rain, your breeches wick water up and down, and your legs get soaked

I’ve never jumped in my long raincoat, and agree that’s not a great idea because it could get in between your leg and the saddle. I also find them annoying for chores as they flap around your legs and trip you on the loft stairs.

If you just want a hip length light rain jacket I would go for any Goretex dupe “coated” shell jacket from any outdoors line, you can probably get great end of season deals online. I would get oversized so it could go over your show jacket. Regular mass market outdoor gear like Columbia or North Face etc is often a much better deal than horse specific niche outerwear, and can be better designs, better colours, and often better quality for the price.
