Liniment and poultices w/o banned substances?

I’m currently looking for both a liniment and poultice that work that don’t contain any usef banned substances. I know that sore no more works very well and people on the circuit use it without any problem but all three formulas contain at least one banned substance. Has anyone had any issues with having a horse tested positive for a banned substance after using sore no more? Are there any liniments or poultices that work without banned substances?

Uptite is the only poultice I use on my grand prix horse

Sore no more performance line is usef and fei safe, Ramard also has a new amazing poultice out which is safe! I think its called Relief Poultice

I looked through the ingredients in Sore No More Performance’s liniment and poultice and it contains lavender and comfrey which are banned substances according to USEF and FEi 2020 banned substance list.

Lavender and comfrey are banned?

Uptite poultice is what I use, and for a lineament just plain rubbing alcohol!

Neither lavendar nor comfrey are listed on the FEI prohibited substances database so unless I’m looking in the wrong spot, I think you’re okay using that product.

yes. and substances placed topically can be absorbed systemically let alone accidental ingestion / contamination

see my link posted above for the USEF prohibited substance list. Not sure where herbals are listed as far as FEI is concerned, I could not find any of the chemical constituents of lavender listed

They are listed on page 4. In context of herbal supplements not being so pure and wonderful as some may lead you to believe.
There’s inference that some of the other ingredients int he herbal mix may be prohibited and that you’d be giving it unawares. Interesting.

the USEF document is very user friendly.

I could not find references for lavender etc on the FEI site, nor of their chemical ( molecular) components

herbal compounds for animals and humans can be poorly formulated or tested, particularly imported from Asia
