Praying for Liz
Oh no! Sending her lots of jingles from an unknown fan!
Praying
Praying for a speedy recovery
Hoping she heals quickly and well.
Does anyone know anything further today after that update? I saw someone on another thread say she was unable to move or speak post-fall? I’m horrified.
If she had a head injury she may not have been conscious. It might be a few days before there are any real changes/updates.
They may be maintaining her down to manage pressure
U of Ky is the best place to take a rider injury - they do have the monopoly on it down there. Track injuries included.
yeah they apologize when they have to cut your shirt or your boots off.
This just seems so incredibly and doubly tragic to happen so soon after she was representing her country at the Olympics. Of course, it would be awful regardless when it occurred, but it just feels all the more stunning.
I hope like other eventers with serious injuries (Jonty Evans, WFP), she makes a comeback, and quickly.
Woof. I hope she is able to make a full recovery. It sounds like she has a long way to go
It was incredibly kind for the family to provide the public with an update, but my heart broke a bit at the “squeezing hands.”
I think this is good news overall. It sounds like she has cognitive function as well as physical functionality in all limbs. I’m sure she has all kinds of tubes and wires, so she can’t just sit up and start talking…
Hopefully there won’t be any complications and she will just keep making progress.
Agreed, it’s nice they are being so open, but I bawled reading that.

The same healing wishes from me, another unknown to Liz.
I’m only online here on COTH. I hope those who know her and/or are on social media will please pass on, the enjoyment I’ve had from watching her ride, and my hopes for her speedy recovery.
Please post any well wishes you have to her FB page. Family and friends are with her 24/7 and making sure to read every message to her that comes through. Never underestimate the healing power a community can have. It really does help.
