She has not yet regained consciousness, though she has given signs of being aware by squeezing hands, holding/pulling reins etc. She has also moved her limbs but I’m not sure if it is clear yet whether that is to command or more random. The unconscious state is such a mystery. I imagine something like twilight sleep where consciousness is just beneath the surface, alternating with periods of deeper sleep.

Have they medically induced a coma? They often do so to give the brain a break so it can rest for awhile while it heals.
I don’t think so, but I don’t know for sure.
I was not there but friends were and they thought her head actually hit the jump, do you think that’s a possibility?
That’s wonderful!!
I was watching from an angle that I could not see that. These things happen so fast.

What a terrible time for Liz’s family, the road ahead is long and uncertain but at least they have a road to go. Watching Georgie Campbells husband trot up at Burghley yesterday reminds me that Eventers just love their sport with all the risks it involves.
Full update on Liz below. For those who would like to check in on her progress, her team will be providing updates on her website starting next week (www.lizhallidayeventing.com). Recovery from an injury of this severity is going be long and difficult for all involved and may start to feel even more daunting after the initial outpouring of support fades. Please keep Liz and her family in your thoughts, and don’t hesitate to send messages of encouragement if you feel moved to do so - it means the world right now.
update today. Vibing for Liz
Praying for you Liz!!!
I know her team doesn’t have to do this but I am very grateful for the updates and tell them every time they post. #keepfightingLiz
Bumping for Liz. Thinking about her every single day and praying for her recovery.
I plan to #LapforLiz tomorrow night at the start of my lesson too. Just may not be canter as it takes a bit for me to warm up.
I will be doing mine at the trot too as my out of shape gelding is currently having trouble keeping the canter around the whole arena.
It is wonderful that the eventing community is coming together to support Liz. Wishing her a quick recovery.
Edited to fix spelling mistake.
A very good update 🥹❤️🥹❤️
