That was terrifying.
It really was. And I hate to say it, but those kinds of fences are asking for those types of crashes.
They missed to the fence and got way too deep to it, the horse hit it above his knees. Seems like the pins should give to horizontal pressure as well, not just downward, precisely for that situation.
Lmao I just find it annoying how they talk like they know everyone and use nicknames etc although she hasnāt done it today so maybe she learned
I know are they really necessary these days?
Daniel had the nicest ride through the head of the lake.
I do too though, I use the nicknames like Iām best friends with everyone
Itās fine here but the general non Eventing public donāt have a clue lol
My least favorite commentator. She does well with her favorites. After that, she has an order of diminishing respect for riders, based on how close they are to her personal universe.
Someone explain the ā5*ā and ā4*ā groups?
I think most people are smart enough that they can figure it out though.
I was actually thinking sheās a lot less subtle in her critical comments, so is a more beginner friendly commentator than someone like Sinead or Will Faudree who are able to mask their comments in a way so that you only know if you know lol.
I love Karen as a commentator, but I completely understand how others donāt. And I agree that I donāt love her commentary about the people she doesnāt know.
Voltaire de Tre
I agree that Karenās favourites come through, but at the same time she is great at explaining the RIDING elementsāwhen a rider should attack or balance, etc.
I learn more when Karen commentates.
Yes she isnāt annoying today so far lol
Thatās totally valid, and I agree. She does have a history of favoritism. I totally understand why a lot of people donāt like her. I enjoy her insights into how to ride the fences, and I do like she can call it like she sees it even if itās negative.
Karen can be kind of blunt but I do like that analyzes the riding itself, not just the lines the rider chose or how the horse seems to be going.
Someone please tell me what bridle Diachello is ridden in I LOVE IT.
But nobody taught me more as a commentator than her mother-in-law, Sally OāConnor, watching dressage. There are rides and certain dressage movements that I can still hear her in my head.
Iām not an eventer and Iām probably not āinā enough to understand whoās a favorite and whoās not. I havenāt picked up on anything that seemed that way to my ears. I do appreciate what Iām finding to be educational commentary.
