Jesse Campbell
I hope to hell Tami Smith is there.
I think Tami is next years Landrover winner. Calling it now. Lol
Yes! They said on an interview that Jesse is taller than WFP!
Iām not sure Mai Baum will remain sound nor do I trust her team to be forthright - Wembley comes to mind. Sheās also running En Vogue at Jersey Fresh, just not the mentality that I want representing my country. Iād rather see MLM on the team than Tamie. She rode that mare the softest Iāve seen.
Going to return to the positives, at this point Tokyo who knows. Iām more excited for Burghley - please God let that run.
I never said anything about his ability to ride.
I was talking about his putting the competition over the well being of the horse.
Which he did.
Great riding on his part thoughā¦
In front of a panel of people, any unevenness is lameness. It doesnāt matter if itās an abcess or a torn suspensory. Unevenness = lame = should not be presented = responsible party should not even consider putting them in SJ that day if they give a damn.
You said he had terrible horsemanship which was what I was replying to. Re read
Oh whatās the reasoning? I donāt much about her other than what Iāve read/seen.
Thanks, it is hard to if with masks!
I might be biased because Iāve been obsessed with the horse since he was a6yo and heās almost 3/4 related to my current 4yo, BUT - we should all be talking about the performance from Mamaās Magic Way. His first 5*, only 10 years old, and he finished 14th place overall and 7th place US horse (top placed 10yo). When he pulled up yesterday at the finish he looked like he wanted to go around again, and he still looked fresh as a daisy today. What an exciting horse for Will Faudree for the future, I am so impressed with Masonās 5* debut!
Can some folks just agree that neither of you will change the otherās mind? Bickering makes for a lot of posts to wade through and is tiresome to read, only to find out that it was a snipe at only one person, and could have been skipped.
I was thinking of you and cheering him on! He was an absolute beast!
Presto got to see a bit of the XC from his stall over in the non-compete barn. Hopefully he was taking notes.
Also someone can show him the replay video later. Might have to hold up the tablet screen at a distance to accommodate his horse vision.
Oh he must have had an entertaining day yesterday! Lol
I too will stick up for Ollie Townend. He is a good horsemen, indeed an exceptional one as he has built his career from ground up, with no perks or family money. He repeatedly produces horses right up to the top level, constantly strives to learn and to improve (details win competitions) and is possibly the hardest working rider on the UK circuit. He admitted his mistake with the over use of the whip, accepted his punishment and has never shown such harshness since - under the beady gaze of a very well-informed British public. Indeed, his rough edges have rubbed off over the years and he now appears a happier, more secure soul even as his riding has got better and better. That his horses dig deep for him and give so much is evidence of his good relationship with them.
My hero is Harry Meade. In 2013 he shattered both arms in a rotational fall and had 5 operations and months of rehab to get back into the saddle. Fall of 2014 he was on the silver medal-winning GB team at WEG but his horse, Wild Lone, collapsed and died in the washing off area so he stood at the medal ceremony whilst his team mates were mounted on their horses. Fall 2020, running at a 3*, he was dragged after a fall which resulted in a very serious head injury. His arm was also injured again: fortunately the doctors were able to work around āthe rubbleā of his previous injury. He was unable to ride for months and only returned to the saddle in March this year. He is still suffering the effects of his head injury and has to manage his symptoms carefully and his team works hard to support him, but he has been on fire this season. To do so well at Kentucky is a quite extraordinary triumph. American audiences might know him best as he is a good commentator and does e.g. Burghley.
Yes, Harry Meade is so inspiring. And proof that completing such an event is as worthy of celebration as winning.
Also inspiring are all the first-time riders and horses who all seemed so well prepared for their 5 star debuts.I
I know Boyd Martin is disappointed that falls eliminated his two experienced horses. But On Cue came within a few bobbles of winning! What a future star if the horse stays sound and competitive.
I think heās displeased with his first KHP experience, stuck over there in the non-compete barn all week, but hopefully at least he got to see some fun things from a distance.
On Cue is a bit late to the game, already being 15, but hopefully Boyd can keep her sound for a while longer!
Does anyone elseās video skip when CMC is jogging? Iāve watched the FB video twice, and mine always freezes and then skips when he jogs the first time. Pretty ironic.
