Local advertising suggestions

Dear forum members,

Please, a request for help and advice? I am a 12-year retired hunter, jumper, equitation, A rated show Instructor. I worked the last 10 years as a scientist for the state where I reside. My husband passed away 1 December 2020 from cancer and circumstances have come up where I need to work. I will be traveling the next six weeks before settling in in Athens, Georgia.

I am going to freelance at what I enjoy and am very good at- teaching. I will hire a professional to create a website with a blog feature and regularly post to Facebook and Instagram, visit feed and tack stores too.

Please, do forum members have suggestions where I might locally advertise? I understand posting here might not be allowed but maybe moderators will allow PMs.

Thank you sincerely in advance.

Most instructors are based out of a specific barn. I would suggest doing a search of all the barns in your target area and sending them a query about teaching there part time.

Most hunter and equitation riders are in barns with coherent programs that do not allow random outside trainers.

Recreational barns like the one I’m at can be welcoming to outside trainers but the average riding level is much less competitive and you need to make contact with the individual riders.

I think you need to find a barn as a base. And maybe Pony Club is an option.
