Lodging near Loch Moy?

Folks familiar with the area, what are your recommendations for lodging as close as possible to Loch Moy (child-friendly…well-behaved child, but still a child)? Open to B&Bs, hotels, Airbnb, etc. Asking here in hopes of recs from personal experience, but any feedback appreciated!

Thank you for your help!

I don’t have any personal experience as I live near there, but I’d look at Frederick, which is the nearest town of any size…

Any hotels in Frederick that you’d warn against? That’s what I hate about hotel shopping in an area I don’t know. Don’t want to pick one in a bad or dangerous neighborhood. Thanks

I don’t think Fredrick really has bad or dangerous neighborhoods…
look on TripAdvisor - if you read reviews carefully you will get the sense of a place. Worked for me so far all over the world…

The Omnibus listing for Loch Moy has 5 hotels listed, on the “convenient” side of Frederick.

IIRC, the officials stay at the first one listed.

Loch Moy folks suggested the Homewood Suites in Frederick and I wish I had stayed there…that entire strip is full of hotels, restaurants, etc so it has everything you need. Nice area by the looks of it. I wouldn’t stay at the Hampton Inn, I did a night there and got approximately 1 hour of sleep. If you must stay there, don’t be anywhere near the elevator shaft.

I think they developed a relationship with Marriott and have a negotiated rate. There are 2 Marriott properties in Frederick - Town Place Suites and Courtyard - both are fairly new. Never stayed at Courtyard, but Town Place is nice - I’ve stayed there quite often. I think you get a better breakfast at Courtyard.

Thank you, everyone! You’ve been most helpful!

I have always wanted to stay here http://www.frederickinn.com/ It looks gorgeous!

My husband travels a lot and stays at Hampton Inn so we always have lots of points. The Hampton Inn in Fredrick must have been something else at one point as it is the nicest ones I have ever seen. It even has a bar on a pier in the pond that is really handy and the breakfast is especially good.
