Does such a thing really not exist?
My horse has large, high withers, a dippy back, and a forward girth groove. Sigh. Last year, I rode in a borrowed Wintec Isabell Cair dressage saddle with a leather anatomic girth. (something like this.) My horse didn’t really like the saddle - the cair gave him pressure sores on his back - but he had lovely big shoulder movement with the girth, and the saddle didn’t slide forward at all.
This year, I bought a Thorowgood endurance saddle that fits him beautifully, but when I use a regular girth, it goes in a diagonal line from the billets to the girth groove and pulls the saddle forward to press against the back of his withers. I tried using the point billet, but he hated that - the pressure of the tree made shoulders and withers sore, and it tipped the saddle forward.
So I’m thinking the anatomic girth is the way to go, but for the life of me, I can’t find a regular-length synthetic anatomic girth except the wintec one, and considering my previous bad experience with cair, I’m not going that route again.
I can’t be the only endurance rider with this problem, can I?
