long-tailed show shirts....where do I go to get more collars made?

One of my new show shirts has the longest tails I have ever seen…and it looks awful all bunched up. Ick. I was thinking about those spiffy collars that have designs made with material on them (you know- the “fancy” ones), and I think it would be cool to have one. So, anyone know who can do this? Would they just trim the tails of my shirt and make it into a collar? It’s a Van Teal shirt- can they do it for me? Thanks.

Find a really good tailor, and take them an example. Any tailer who knows their stuff should be able to easily copy something as simple as a “fancy” collar. Hope this helps!!

Only two, only two, only two more months!! So much to do, we don't even have a fence yet!!!

A local seamstress or tailor or even a friend’s mother who sews-or your own mother-would whip this out in no time for you.

A good reputation taking thousands of years to build can be destroyed in a few hours.

ok- so how do they cut the excess off my shirt without wrecking it? (you’re talking to a girl who wouldn’t know a sewing needle if she sat one one)

just make sure that they cut the shirt to leave enough length to tuck it in

Find a shirt you like the length of and a tailor can measure that length and make it match. And remember you can always cut more off, don;t get too carried away.

I doubt you will be able to get a choker out of the tail material though. Sometimes they need to be cut on the bias (a curve with the fabric). But again a good tailor should be able to help you through it.

Good luck.
